Junior AI Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help design and build bespoke AI agents and their data foundations, spanning backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure. You will work within a small, hands-on AI engineering practice tied to the Reply–Microsoft alliance, delivering production-ready solutions on Azure AI tools. You will balance pro-code and low-code approaches, ship quality components, and continually learn across the stack to meet client needs. This role offers real-world impact by shaping practical AI deployments in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Build bespoke AI agents, integrations, and data foundations for reliable solutions.
• Develop full-stack components including backend logic, APIs, and front-end interfaces.
• Work with the Microsoft AI stack in production builds (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure ML, Cognitive Services).
• Guide delivery decisions on pro-code versus low-code options for use cases.
• Own your project slice, ensuring clarity, reliability, and quality of shipping work.
• Prototype and explore new AI tools and techniques; share learnings with the team.
• Explain builds and trade-offs to colleagues and clients in clear terms.
• Continuously learn across the stack and adapt to project needs.

Key requirements

• Early-career developer (graduate or 0–2 years’ experience)
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts or tools
• Self-starter with fast learning ability and independence
• Good communication to explain technical work to diverse audiences
• Generalist mindset across stack; not fixed to one layer
• Familiar with modern engineering practices and tooling (Git, CI/CD, Docker, databases) or willing to ramp up
