System Safety Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Safety Engineer for a high‑profile, 12‑month contract supporting critical aerospace/defence engineering programmes. The role offers excellent long‑term stability and a modern hybrid working model, requiring just one day per week at either our Bristol or Yeovil facility. As a pivotal member of the engineering assurance team, you will drive safety compliance, develop robust safety arguments, and ensure that complex systems satisfy rigorous regulatory and military standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety case development.
• Perform risk‑management tasks such as hazard identification and hazard analysis.
• Ensure compliance with military safety standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Defence Standard 00‑056.
• Proven safety case management experience.
• Hands‑on safety risk assessment skills.
• BPSS clearance required or must be achievable rapidly.

Additional Information

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom (hybrid working). Salary: £60‑£70 per hour. This contract is for 12 months.
