Civil Structural Engineers – Engineer, Senior & Principal

Overview

In this role, you contribute to Arup’s Glasgow Energy Water & Resources team, delivering safe, sustainable structural solutions across renewable energy, water and maritime sectors. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from concept to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges. You will influence project outcomes, mentor junior engineers and help shape the future direction of our civil engineering capability. Responsibilities

• Deliver project work across the full lifecycle, from feasibility to construction support
• Undertake complex structural analysis and design for diverse conditions
• Produce and review structural designs, calculations, reports, drawings and digital models
• Coordinate with civil, MEP and geotechnical disciplines for integrated solutions
• Lead technical delivery with focus on quality, safety, innovation and engineering excellence
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and colleagues to align with project requirements
• Mentor and support junior engineers with technical guidance and development
• Influence project delivery and support business development and capability growth

Key requirements

• BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering; Chartered or working towards Chartership (MICE or MIStructE)
• Technical expertise in structural analysis and design; proficiency in GSA, AdSec or equivalent FEA tools
• Experience in reinforced concrete design and Civil Engineering infrastructure in Water, Maritime, Renewable Energy or related fields
• Experience engaging with clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Experience applying Eurocodes and relevant industry standards
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary interfaces
