Software Engineer – AI Agents (Satori)

Overview

In this role you will help shape Satori, Proofpoint’s enterprise AI agent platform, by designing core runtimes and SDKs used across product teams. You will ship production-grade services that enable secure, scalable agent-based operations for Fortune 100 customers. You’ll work closely with product tech leads to turn integrations into reusable platform capabilities and drive observability, safety checks, and telemetry. Your work will directly impact how mission-critical agentic software is released and monitored across Proofpoint’s portfolio. This is a challenging role with high impact, requiring collaboration across global teams and a proactive, hands-on mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and contribute to agent runtimes and SDKs used by product teams
• Shape release criteria including eval suites, safety checks, telemetry, and AuthX
• Develop primitives such as prompt management and observability for production deployment
• Collaborate with product tech leads to convert one-off integrations into reusable platform capabilities
• Own the development and operation of production-grade services
• Navigate non-deterministic systems with a focus on robust, scalable delivery

Key requirements

• Experience designing, developing, and supporting applications in a microservices cloud environment
• Interest in AI agents and hands-on experience with agent frameworks or LLM SDKs
• Production contribution to agentic or LLM-based systems, including eval, observability, and rollback
• Strong learning velocity and curiosity about enterprise-scale systems
• Proficiency in Python; TypeScript/Node is a plus
• Experience debugging distributed systems using traces; familiarity with OpenTelemetry a plus
• Cloud-native development, automation of deployments, containerization; AWS experience a plus
• Excellent time management and coordination across global teams
• Strong communication and collaboration; mentoring and architectural discussion experience
• Proactive attitude and ability to move forward under uncertainty
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation coordinated with US-based colleagues
• BSc in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
