Senior MEP Cost Manager – Real Estate

Overview

In this MEP Senior Cost Manager role, you lead cost management for mechanical, electrical and plumbing works on large projects or standalone commissions in our London Real Estate team. You will set early budgets, develop cost plans, and support design teams to meet budget objectives while supervising tendering processes and post-contract reporting. You’ll coach junior staff, advance MEP digital tools, and collaborate with clients, contractors and supply chain partners to deliver value and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Establish early budgets and estimates
• Develop cost plans and present final plans to stakeholders
• Manage tendering and procurement activities (single-stage and two-stage)
• Deliver post-contract cost reporting and variations/change control
• Oversee cost management teams and mentor junior staff
• Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
• Negotiate final accounts with stakeholders
• Collaborate with clients, consultants and project teams throughout all stages
• Support feasibility studies and procurement reporting
• Promote MEP capabilities and engage with the wider MEP community

Key requirements

• Proven track record in cost management/quantity surveying across full project lifecycle
• Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) or working towards a degree or HNC
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Experience delivering MEP elements for clients
• Knowledge of MEP supply chain (tier 1 and below)
• Experience using digital software for cost management
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
