Programme Manager

Overview

As a Programme Manager in the UK Defence function, you will own the delivery of the Programme vision within the Mission Rehearsal team. You will shape the programme, coordinating planning, cost control, risk, stakeholders, and quality across projects. You’ll work with cross-functional finance, commercial, and technical teams to ensure controls, performance visibility, and timely decision-making. The role offers impact through shaping projects and ensuring readiness across defence-focused initiatives. This is a mission-driven opportunity to lead complex, high-stakes programmes in a secure, cross-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Integrated planning and scheduling of the programme
• Budget and cost control and performance reporting
• Risk and issue management at programme level
• Stakeholder engagement and collaboration with internal and external partners
• Commercial management and pre/post contract discussions with Commercial
• Resource capacity planning and dependency management
• Quality management and ensuring programme controls are in place
• Assessing and communicating project performance (RAG) across the programme

Key requirements

• 10 years’ experience leading programmes within project teams
• Deep knowledge of the full project lifecycle and programme management
• Experience using Microsoft Project and SAP
• Qualifications: APM PMQ, PMI PgMP or AIPM CPPD
