Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical and HVAC design across RIBA stages for landmark projects, guide project delivery and key client accounts, and collaborate with design teams to deliver sustainable building services. You will ensure compliance with Building Regulations and CIBSE, and represent the firm in client meetings. The position supports the firm’s growth in Birmingham within an award-winning practice.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and coordinate projects through all RIBA Stages
• Be a lead for particular projects
• Attend client and design team meetings
• Manage key client accounts
• Produce high-performance mechanical building services design
• Produce Mechanical and HVAC design that meets Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines

Key requirements

• At least 6 years experience within Mechanical Design Engineering
• Familiar with building regulations and CIBSE guidelines
• Experience working in a client facing role
• Experience working on programmes such as Hevacomp for Mechanical Design
• Good commercial awareness
