Innovation andtechnology are central to our strategic ambitions. We have an exciting newopportunity for a Service Innovation Lawyer specialising in Real Estate law towork within our Real Estate practice group, helping to shape and deliver AIenabled legal services for our clients.

This role isavailable on both a permanent and fixed-term basis, and can be based from anyof our UK offices. We operate a hybrid working model so you can benefit fromtime both at home and in the office. The successful candidate will receivestructured training and ongoing development in AI, legal technology and clientservice innovation. This role will suit lawyers already in a similar role, aswell as those looking to pivot into this space. Previous experience in a legaltechnology and AI role is not required – though we are looking for a stronginterest in this space.

The Team

As a ServiceInnovation Lawyer, you will be embedded in our Real Estate Practice Group,working day-to-day alongside Partners and fee earning teams. You will also bepart of, and work closely with, our Osborne Clarke Solutions (“OCS”)team, a multidisciplinary group of ex-lawyers and technologists based in the UKand Europe, who provide the strategic framework, tools and methodology thatunderpin the firm’s service innovation programme. By talking to clients, usingAI and collaborative technology to develop legal project management tools, webelieve that we can continue to transform our services and further strengthenOsborne Clarke’s position in the market.

The firm’sservice innovation programme has already delivered solutions to a number ofclients across several jurisdictions, with hundreds of matters now beinginstructed, run and managed online. There are many more opportunities to designand implement new delivery and technology tools, and to help clients with theirown process improvements. You will also help ensure our lawyers have theresources, products and know-how needed to provide the best possible service.Embedded day-to-day within Real Estate, you will work closely with Partners,fee earning teams, our in-house Knowledge team and clients, with the supportand strategic direction of OCS. You will play a pivotal role in turning thefirm’s AI strategy into practice: embedding AI enabled ways of working in livematters and helping to design and deliver new AI enabled products and services.

As demandforthese solutions grows, we are investing in additional legally experiencedresource to help build and manage our portfolio of AI enabled products,services and solutions across OC jurisdictions. You will be supported withtailored training, mentoring and exposure to a broad range of projects todevelop your skills in this area.

Key roleresponsibilities

You will:

  • Work directly alongside Real Estate feeearning lawyers on live client matters to design, test and refine AIenabled ways of delivering existing legal services.
  • Turn stakeholder requests into scoped,risk aware and commercially grounded plans with defined deliverables andtimelines.
  • Identify and shape new AI enabled productsand services based on live matter experience, client feedback and marketinsight.
  • Act as a credible client facing voice onAI, explaining Osborne Clarke’s AI enabled delivery models, pricing, riskmanagement and governance in a clear, practical way.
  • Champion the adoption of generative AItools and new workflows across the Real Estate practice group, ensuringalignment with the firm’s AI governance framework (includingconfidentiality, accuracy and regulatory compliance).
  • Track developments in AI and legaltechnology and translate them into practical improvements to services,processes and knowledge assets.
  • Provide professional support to OC andBusiness Services, contributing to continuous process improvement andpromoting a culture of proactive, high quality client service.

Personspecification

As well ashaving an excellent track record in client service, we need someone who is:

  • Qualified as a Lawyer with strongknowledge of Real Estate law and the credibility to engage confidentlywith Partners and clients.
  • Genuinely interested in AI, technology andservice innovation, with curiosity to build expertise independently and agood instinct for where AI does and does not add value.
  • Able to break down complex or vague clientasks into clear, structured and deliverable plans, using AI responsiblyand working through ambiguity with strong problem-solving skills.
  • A strong communicator and influencer, ableto build trust with lawyers and clients, manage expectations throughproactive communication, and hold a position in challenging conversations.
  • Commercially astute, focused on solutionsthat deliver real impact for clients and Osborne Clarke rather than usingAI for its own sake, and comfortable balancing innovation with risk, costand quality.
  • A collaborative and people focused teammember, contributing to a healthy team dynamic, supporting wellbeing, andinvested in delivering a consistently excellent client experience.
  • Detail oriented and rigorous in testingand quality assuring AI outputs, with resilience and tenacity to iterate,learn from setbacks and continually improve services.
  • You will have access to comprehensivetraining and development to help you build and deepen these capabilitiesover time.
