The foundations are built. The platform is live, the engineers and analysts are in place, and the team is now adding a Data Scientist to turn that into models that shape real decisions across customer behaviour, risk and operational efficiency.
You’ll work day to day with Data Engineering and Analytics colleagues who already understand what Data Science needs to succeed.
What you’ll do
- Take business problems from first question to deployed model
- Build and validate models in Python, then monitor them in production
- Use statistics, experimentation and A/B testing to test ideas properly
- Partner with Data Engineering on pipelines, features and productionisation
- Support Analytics colleagues on more complex statistical problems
- Share knowledge and help set best practice across the team
- Explain results clearly to senior stakeholders, focused on the business answer
What you’ll bring
- 2–3+ years’ commercial Data Science experience
- Solid statistics: regression, classification, clustering, time series, experimental design
- Strong Python: pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn
- Models taken beyond the notebook and into production
- MLOps, CI/CD and deployment knowledge, or close work with engineers
- A practical approach: explainable over unnecessarily complex
- Enjoys collaborating and explaining ideas to technical and non-technical colleagues
Nice to have
- Financial services, fintech or another regulated environment
- Microsoft Fabric, Azure ML or Databricks
- MLflow, DVC, Git
