Senior Architectural Technologist – WSP Architecture

Overview

In this Architectural Technologist role, you translate preliminary designs into buildable solutions while coordinating information across disciplines. You will lead design teams, supervise technical delivery, and support site delivery from Birmingham. The position emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration with clients, contractors, and design teams to manage design changes, procure packages, and monitor project programming. Responsibilities

• Provide technical design support to project teams and ensure delivery aligns with client requirements
• Lead and coordinate Design Teams and sub‑contractors; supervise technical project teams
• Manage day‑to‑day design delivery through all stages; respond to technical queries and attend Design Team/Coordination meetings
• Liaise with Client and Contractor; monitor delivery, assess design changes and potential effects on fees and schedules
• Assist with package procurement, programming, site inspections, and condition surveys
• Report project status to Project Leader on a monthly basis
• Support Contractor during build and ensure alignment with design intent

Key requirements

• HNC/HND in Architecture/Building Construction or BSc in Architectural Technology
• Eligible member of MCIAT or an equivalent professional institution
• Understanding of Building Regulations and relevant technical design guidance
• Experience with REVIT and Navisworks for BIM Level 2 delivery
• UK Security Check (SC) clearance eligibility
