Project Engineer

Overview

As a Project Engineer, you support the planning, design, delivery, and handover of cabling works within the BTNO project. You collaborate with the Project Manager and team to ensure safety, timeliness, and budget adherence. You formalise engineered solutions, coordinate site activities, and monitor progress and quality. This role offers impact through contributing to critical power infrastructure and a strong safety culture, with opportunities to shape delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support HV cabling delivery across the BTNO project
• Manage subcontractors and coordinate site activities
• Review technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Produce and review RAMS and safety documentation
• Monitor project progress, quality and programme performance
• Support risk management and opportunities for improvement
• Assist with procurement of plant, materials and services
• Maintain project records and report to stakeholders
• Promote Zero Harm and ensure HSE compliance
• Support commissioning, handover and close-out activities

Key requirements

• Experience as a Project Engineer in power, utilities, construction or infrastructure
• Experience delivering cabling, civils or electrical infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of safe systems of work and site-based delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate resources
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
• Formal engineering or construction qualification or equivalent experience
• CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred
• APM qualifications or desire to pursue them advantageous
