£2,500 First-Year Driver Bonus
Join RiverRidge as a permanent HGV Class 2 Driver, based at Belfast or Garvagh. You will complete multi-drop deliveries and collections across Northern Ireland and, where required, collect and move commercial containers.
With a guaranteed 40-hour week, Monday-to-Friday working, overtime rates, and a £2,500 First-Year Driver Bonus, this is a secure driving role with an established local waste-management business.
YOUR PAY & BONUS
- £17.22 per hour
- £2,500 First-Year Driver Bonus payments of £500 after 2, 4, 6, 9 and 12 months, subject to the scheme rules
- Up to c. £43,690 in your first year* when working 45 paid hours each week and receiving the full £2,500 First-Year Driver Bonus
- Guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week basic annual pay of £35,817.60
- Hours above 43, Monday to Friday, paid at £25.83 per hour (time and a half)
- Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday hours paid at £25.83 per hour
- 28 days’ annual leave, including eight customary/bank holidays
- £1,000 Employee Referral Payment for driver roles, subject to scheme rules

THE JOB
- Complete multi-drop deliveries and collections safely and efficiently.
- Collect and move commercial containers when required.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly to the Transport Office.
- Follow drivers’ hours rules, operating-licence procedures, and all health and safety requirements.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent RiverRidge professionally.
- Complete required training and cooperate with security-clearance processes.
- Work closely with the transport team to maintain a reliable service.
WHAT YOU NEED
ESSENTIAL
- A valid Category C HGV licence
- A digital tachograph card and full Driver CPC
- A full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points
- A strong commitment to health and safety and compliance
- Good knowledge of drivers’ hours rules and safe HGV operation
- The ability to undertake manual work and obtain required security clearances
- A professional, customer-focused approach and the ability to work well with others
- Flexibility where operational needs occasionally affect finish times, with weekend and bank-holiday work agreed as required
DESIRABLE
- At least six months’ HGV driving experience
- Experience in the waste industry
NEWLY QUALIFIED? TALK TO US.

*Illustrative first-year earnings are based on 45 paid hours per week: 40 guaranteed hours, three overtime hours at the standard rate of £17.22 per hour, and two further overtime hours at the enhanced rate of £25.83 per hour. This totals £41,190.24 a year, or £43,690.24 with the full £2,500 First-Year Driver Bonus. Actual earnings depend on hours worked and eligibility for the bonus. Overtime is not guaranteed.
