You will be joining a local authority’s Economic Development team, supporting the delivery of strategic programmes designed to drive business growth, innovation and economic development across the Borough.
About you
The successful candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Economic development
- Regeneration
- Innovation and digital transformation
- Enterprise or business support
- Programme or project management
- Skills development
- Funding management
- Public sector development
You will have demonstrable experience of developing and delivering initiatives that support economic growth, innovation or digital transformation.
You will also have experience of building effective partnerships, managing stakeholders and working collaboratively with government departments, businesses, education providers, community organisations and other partners.
Experience of securing external funding and preparing reports, business cases and recommendations for senior officers, committees and elected members would be highly advantageous.
What you’ll do
- Develop and deliver programmes that support economic growth, business development, innovation and digital transformation
- Lead projects and programmes from initial development through to delivery
- Identify, secure and manage external funding opportunities
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with government departments, businesses, education providers, community organisations and other stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to coordinate programme delivery
- Prepare reports, business cases and recommendations for senior officers, committees and elected members
- Monitor programme progress and ensure projects deliver against agreed objectives
- Provide advice and support to businesses and stakeholders where appropriate
- Build strong relationships with partners and use effective influencing skills to achieve programme outcomes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Council’s economic development priorities
- Translate strategic priorities into programmes that deliver measurable benefits for businesses, communities and residents
