Training Contract – Criminal Defence Trainee Solicitor

Location: City of London

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 + out of hour police station attendance

We are a criminal defence specialist firm in the City of London, with additional expertise in Family Law and Civil Disputes. Our trainees gain exceptional experience in crime-focused practice with the possibility of developing transferable skills across our other departments.

This training contract offers:

• Criminal law focus
• Police station accreditation & regular duty solicitor work
• Magistrates’ and Crown Court case preparation
• Bail applications and sentencing hearings
• Direct advocacy experience

Key Responsibilities

• Police station attendance (including out-of-hours slots)
• Client interviews and case preparation
• Legal research and case management to assist fee earners
• Court documentation and hearings
• Legal aid compliance

Requirements

• Law degree/GDL + LPC/SQE
• Commitment to criminal defence work
