Imagery Analyst / GEOINT Engineer | Space & Defence (London, UK)
London | Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
We’re working with a high-growth UK space technology company developing advanced satellite imagery solutions for customers across the defence, security and critical infrastructure sectors.
They’re looking for an Imagery Analyst / GEOINT Engineer with a strong background in satellite imagery, geospatial intelligence and remote sensing to join their Solutions Engineering team.
This could be a particularly strong opportunity for someone coming from a British Army / military intelligence / GEOINT background who wants to take their experience into the commercial space sector.
🛰️ The Role
You’ll sit at the intersection of satellite imagery analysis, defence applications and technical customer engagement.
Your work could include:
- Analysing high-resolution satellite imagery to identify patterns, objects, activity and areas of interest
- Working with thermal / heat-mapping imagery to generate actionable intelligence and identify anomalies
- Interpreting optical and SAR imagery for defence and security applications
- Using GIS and imagery analysis tools to investigate locations and create geospatial insights
- Supporting technical demonstrations and showing customers how satellite imagery can solve real-world problems
- Delivering training to customers on imagery platforms, analysis techniques and analytical tools
- Supporting technical proposals, RFPs and pre-sales activity
- Working with commercial and solutions engineering teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Feeding customer requirements and insights back into the Product team
This is not a traditional marketing or content role. The focus is on technical imagery analysis, GEOINT and applying satellite data to real customer and operational problems.
️ Who We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Military intelligence / GEOINT / IMINT
- Defence imagery analysis
- Satellite or aerial imagery interpretation
- Remote sensing and geospatial intelligence
- Intelligence analysis involving maps, imagery and geospatial data
- Thermal or heat-map analysis
- Optical and/or SAR imagery
You could come from a British Army intelligence, ISR, GEOINT or imagery analysis background, or have gained equivalent experience within defence, government, aerospace or the commercial geospatial sector.
You don’t necessarily need previous experience working for a space company – we’re interested in people who understand imagery, intelligence and geospatial analysis and want to apply those skills to next-generation satellite technology.
🛠️ Technical Experience
Experience with some of the following would be valuable:
- ArcGIS / QGIS
- ENVI
- ERDAS Imagine
- SOCET GXP
- High-resolution optical imagery
- SAR imagery
- Thermal / multispectral / hyperspectral imagery
- Remote sensing and geospatial analysis
You’ll Also Need
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to interpret complex imagery and communicate your findings clearly
- Confidence presenting technical information and explaining your analysis to different audiences
- Attention to detail and an investigative mindset
- An interest in applying space-based data to defence and security challenges
- The ability to work across technical analysis, customer engagement and solutions engineering
