EOC Business Manager – Exeter (INTERNAL)

This is a key role within the EOCs reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Operations – EOCs and managing the business support and administration for the EOCs. This role will assist in the smooth running of the EOCs, provide additional resilience at a local level and be a full member of the EOCs Management Team.

This role will provide leadership to the administrative staff working within the EOCs, provide direct support to the Deputy Director of Operations – EOCs and other senior operational colleagues working within the EOCs. They will provide a primary point of contact for staff working in other Directorates across the Trust. The EOC Business Manager will act as the link between administrative functions at a EOC level and the wider Trust. They will also operate as the key point of contact for external partners and national colleagues, providing an access point into the EOC team.

The EOC Business Manager will have a key role in tracking and co-ordinating compliance across several key areas including sickness, KPIs and appraisals as well as providing comprehensive business/ administration support across all areas. They will work closely with their EOC Business Manager colleague to ensure all aspects of EOC business are aligned, coordinated and well managed.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent administrative experience.
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above) including English
  • Full Driving Licence

Previous experience (Paid/ Unpaid relevant to job)

  • Experience of line managing staff
  • Previous administrative experience working at a senior level with demonstrable responsibilities that can be clearly articulated
  • Experience of gathering, analysing and reporting on a range of data and information
  • NHS experience
  • Previous PA/ EA experience

Skills, knowledge, ability

  • Competent in using Excel, Word, Outlook, email and the internet.
