Job Description Technical Manager – Pre-Constructionn n Location – Stockport n Salary/Package – £45,000 – £60,000 + Excellent Benefits Package n nAbout the Companyn n Our client is an established and growing business operating within the construction and building envelope sector, delivering technically complex solutions to major contractors, developers and clients across the UK. n The business has built a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise and delivering specialist solutions across areas including doors, windows, curtain walling, cladding, roofing and faades . n This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded construction professional who enjoys working with detailed information, drawings and specifications and wants to play a key role during the pre-construction stage of projects. n nThe Rolen n Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Manager to join their office-based team. n The role will sit between the client and design functions, ensuring complex enquiry information is fully understood, technically assessed and translated into clear requirements for the design and delivery teams. n You will spend a significant amount of time reviewing architectural drawings, technical specifications and CAD information, so the ability to work through detailed technical documentation with a high level of accuracy is essential. n nKey Responsibilitiesn n n n Reviewing architectural and technical drawings n n Analysing detailed enquiry information and project requirements n n Translating complex technical information into clear and concise requirements n n Acting as the interface between clients, customers and the internal design team n n Reviewing technical specifications and identifying key project requirements n n Reviewing CAD files and detailed drawing packages n n Identifying technical issues, inconsistencies and potential design considerations n n Supporting the pre-construction process from initial enquiry through to design development n n Working closely with design, estimating and commercial teams n n Attending client meetings and providing technical input where required n n Communicating technical requirements clearly to internal and external stakeholders n n Ensuring technical information is accurate and complete before progressing projects n n Managing and reviewing large volumes of technical documentation n n Supporting the preparation of technical proposals and project information n n Maintaining accurate records of drawings, specifications and technical requirements n n Assisting with resolving technical queries during the pre-construction process n n Ensuring information is communicated effectively between the client and design teams n n nThe Ideal Candidaten n The successful Technical Manager will ideally have: n n n Previous experience working within construction, building envelope, technical design or a related environment n n Strong experience reviewing architectural drawings and technical information n n Ability to interpret and understand detailed construction drawings n n Experience working with CAD files and technical drawings n n Strong understanding of technical specifications n n Excellent attention to detail n n Ability to process and retain large amounts of technical information n n Strong analytical and problem-solving skills n n Excellent written and verbal communication skills n n Confidence attending client meetings and communicating technical information n n A proactive approach with the ability to work independently n n A methodical and organised approach to work n n Stable employment history n n Comfortable working in an office-based environment n n Strong IT skills and confidence working with technical documentation n n nIdeal Backgroundsn n The business would consider candidates from a range of technical construction backgrounds, including: n n n Technical Sales n n Technical Design n n Design Manager n n Technical Engineer n n Technical Advisor n n Technical Consultant n n Technical Coordinator n n Pre-Construction Coordinator n n Candidates with strong experience working with CAD files and technical drawings n n Candidates with experience across the building envelope sector , including: n n n Doors n n Windows n n Curtain walling n n Cladding n n Roofing n n Faades n n n Experience with a main contractor , particularly a Tier 1 contractor, would be highly advantageous.
