Advanced Practitioner Level 1 Speech & Language Therapist
Location: Roddensvale Special School, Larne
Hours: 21 hours per week, MondayFriday
Pay: £24.45 per hour
Start: Immediate Caseload: Pre-school & school-age children with Learning Disabilities
We are urgently recruiting an Advanced Practitioner Level 1 Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist service supporting children with moderate, severe, profound or multiple learning disabilities.
The role will involve providing highly specialist Speech & Language Therapy assessment, intervention and advice to children and their families across educational and community settings.
Responsibilities will include managing a specialist caseload, providing expert advice and second opinions to other Speech & Language Therapists, and developing individualised treatment and communication programmes to meet the needs of each child.
The successful candidate will also provide specialist training, guidance and mentoring to SLTs and SLTAs, while working closely with families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to support positive outcomes.
The role will also contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Speech & Language Therapy service. School-based requirement:
The post holder will be required to take approximately 75% of annual leave during school holidays.
What We Need From You
- Degree/Diploma in Speech & Language Therapy
- RCSLT membership and HCPC registration
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience, including experience working with children with severe learning disabilities
- Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Dysphagia and at least 1 years independent paediatric dysphagia practice
- Relevant postgraduate training such as Hanen, Intensive Interaction, Makaton or AAC
- Current full UK driving licence
