L1.5/L2 Desktop Engineer – Jersey

Location: St Helier, Jersey ,UK (Onsite)

Experience: 2-3 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on L1.5/L2 Desktop Engineer to bridge frontline service desk support and advanced system administration. The role involves desktop engineering, hardware/software deployment, VDI support, executive/VIP support, meeting room technology, and mobile device management.

Key Responsibilities

Desktop Engineering & Support

  • Resolve and escalat complex incidents and service requests through ServiceNow ITSM or equivalent tools.
  • Create and maintain internal Knowledge Base (KB) articles.
  • Escalate incidents to third-party vendors when required.
  • Build, configure, image, and provision Windows 11 laptops and desktops.
  • Use deployment tools such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and SCCM.
  • Deploy software applications and updates while maintaining version control.
  • Manage the complete hardware lifecycle, including secure decommissioning and recycling.

VDI Support

  • Troubleshoot and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
  • Resolve user profile issues, connection drops, thin-client hardware issues, and application delivery failures.

Executive / VIP Support

  • Provide white-glove IT support to C-suite executives and senior leadership.
  • Perform executive hardware refreshes, data migrations, and system configurations.
  • Support laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.

Meeting Room & Digital Workspace Support

  • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams Rooms, projectors, smart displays, and AV peripherals.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot digital signage players across office locations.
  • Support corporate iOS/Android devices.
  • Handle MDM enrollment, email configuration, and application deployment.

Mandatory Skills

  • Good knowledge of Windows OS.
  • Proven experience in Desktop Support / EUC or similar roles.
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to visit other sites across Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man.

Desired Skills

  • L1.5/L2 Desktop Engineering experience.
