Your CompanyAn established and highly successful manufacturing organisation with operations across the UK and Ireland is seeking a Head of Operational Technology to lead its OT, automation and manufacturing technology organisation is investing in digital transformation, automation and operational efficiency across its production RoleReporting to the Director of IT, you will take strategic ownership of Operational Technology across multiple manufacturing responsibilities include:
- Define and lead the OT and automation strategy.
- Establish standards across PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial data systems.
- Develop the strategic direction for SCADA, OEE and MES technologies.
- Drive automation, operational efficiency and data-led decision making.
- Ensure new technology projects integrate effectively with existing manufacturing systems.
- Set technical requirements for system integrators, OEMs and automation partners.
- Lead delivery through internal engineering teams and specialist suppliers.
- Develop internal automation capability through technical leadership and mentoring.
- Work closely with IT, Engineering and Operations to support digital transformation.
What You Need to SucceedYou will bring significant experience within manufacturing, Operational Technology, engineering or digital transformation, ideally within a complex production environment.You will have:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing technology and automation.
- Experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES and/or OEE systems.
- Knowledge of data analytics, automation and IoT.
- Leadership experience across teams, projects or strategic initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
