Job Title – Consultant Psychiatrist

We are working with asmall private mental health clinic currently going through an exciting period of growth. At the end of January, they were accredited under Essex ICB through the Right to Choose pathway to provide ADHD and ASD assessments and diagnoses, as well as ADHD medication management, including titration.
The role is initially for a Consultant Psychiatrist, working full time. While the responsibilities may evolve as the service continues to grow, the role will primarily involve the following:
- Acting as Medication Lead for our ADHD and Neurodevelopmental Services.
- Providing specialist psychiatric advice on ADHD medication management and prescribing.
- Participating in discussions relating to complex clinical cases referred by the multidisciplinary team.
- Providing clinical guidance on medication-related matters where appropriate.
- Supporting the safe and effective delivery of our ADHD medication pathways.
- Attending agreed multidisciplinary meetings and clinical discussions relevant to medication management.
- Advising on complex prescribing decisions, medication titration, treatment resistance, co-occurring mental health conditions, and risk management.
- Undertaking patient-facing clinical work, including assessments, medication reviews, prescribing consultations, and complex case reviews.
- Contributing to clinical governance matters directly related to medication safety and prescribing where reasonably required.
The practitioner would not be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service or general clinical supervision of staff. Their supervisory responsibilities would be limited to prescribers, psychiatrists and specialty doctors, together with governance activities directly related to medication safety, unless otherwise agreed.
We are looking for individual with the following skills and experience
- GMC registration
- Experience as a Psychiatrist in the UK
- Understanding of ADHD medication management and prescribing
- Availability to work in their clinic in Middlesex 2-3 days a week
