An exciting opportunity is available for a General Foreman to join our clients Metro Team working on a portfolio of highways and bridge projects in and around the Bristol region.
You will be working within a fast paced civil engineering team delivering a wide range of infrastructure works.
The Role
Working alongside the Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient delivery of works across a package of projects in the Portishead, Pill and Bristol areas.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supervising and managing groundworks and highway works on siteCoordinating activities within traffic management environmentsManaging and overseeing utility diversion works in conjunction with service providersEnsuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and in line with design specificationsLeading and motivating site teams, including direct labour and subcontractorsImplementing and maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental complianceMonitoring progress against programme and reporting updates to the Site AgentManaging trade packages and ensuring effective coordination between disciplinesMaintaining accurate site records including diaries, labour and plant returnsDriving a “right first time” and continuous improvement culture across site operationsRequirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as a Supervisor or General Foreman within a civil engineering environmentStrong background in groundworks and highway projectsExperience working with utility companies and diversionary worksExperience operating within traffic management environmentsA strong understanding of delivering works safely within live site conditionsSSSTS or SMSTS certificationCSCS cardAbility to lead teams and manage multiple work fronts effectively
