Team Lead Laser Operator

Shift: Nights, 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6am

Contract: Permanent

We are open to skilled laser operatives ready for their next step, or experienced Team Leaders with strong laser operation experience.

You will lead the night-shift laser department, ensuring production targets, quality standards and health and safety requirements are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate and support CNC laser operators throughout the night shift
• Set, operate and monitor CNC laser-cutting machinery
• Allocate workloads and organise shift priorities to meet production schedules
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and production specifications
• Ensure all components are manufactured accurately and to the required quality standards
• Complete first-off inspections and routine quality checks
• Ensure accurate completion of production paperwork and shift handovers
• Support the training and development of new and existing team members.

The ideal candidate:

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC laser-cutting machines
• Team-leading, supervisory or senior operator experience
• Strong health and safety awareness
• Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
• Able to organise workloads and make effective decisions during a busy shift
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable working permanent nights on a 4-on, 4-off rota.
• Experience with Trumpf, Bystronic or Amada laser machinery would be advantageous
