Maintenance Engineer

Overview

In this role you maintain and troubleshoot maintenance activities at UPS package handling facilities. You inspect, adjust, and replace electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and welding components, and perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and related equipment. You respond to alarms and emergencies, ensuring uptime and safety in a fast-paced environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to keep the sortation system running smoothly and support continuous improvement in operations.

Responsibilities

• Responds to internal customers and facility alarms
• Troubleshoots issues in the sortation system and facility
• Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment
• Inspects, troubleshoots, and replaces electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and welding components
• Where needed, engages in basic diagnostics and support to maintain uptime

Key requirements

• Industry recognized qualifications in engineering preferred
• Electrical experience preferred
• Programming experience including troubleshooting, basic understanding of networks, motor control theory, and operation including basic AC/DC electrical troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and elementary diagrams
• Clean UK Driving License
