Java Developer

Overview

As a Java Developer in Citi’s Global Market Access EMEA team, you will help build and maintain the gateway layer that connects Citi’s internal trading messages to European exchanges, enabling electronic execution. You’ll work within a collaborative technology team focused on scalable, secure systems that support global markets. This role combines development, analysis, and risk-aware decision-making to deliver reliable trading infrastructure. You will grow through mentorship, learning resources, and flexible work options while contributing to Citi’s mission of advancing global finance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance applications and gateway components in coordination with the Technology team
• Consult with users and cross-functional groups to propose and implement programming solutions
• Apply programming knowledge to design specifications and code tooling
• Analyze applications for vulnerabilities, perform testing and debugging
• Provide coaching to junior team members and act as SME to stakeholders
• Assess risk in decisions and ensure compliance with laws, policies, and controls
• Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment
• Define and implement system enhancements using scripts and code analysis
