International Financial Controller

Overview

In this Financial Controller role, you will own controllership for IMG Commercial entities across multiple countries, ensuring accurate group reporting and robust internal controls. You will lead a local and cross-border finance team, collaborate with tax, legal and treasury, and support the annual group audit. The role emphasizes timely reporting, compliance with US GAAP, and effective governance across shared services and offshore entities. You will contribute to process improvements and uphold a strong control environment while supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and ensure alignment with company policies
• Lead and develop the finance team, including training and supervision
• Own relationships with third-party advisors to support decision-making
• Handle period-end accounting and timely group reporting, including quarterly packs and transfer pricing/tax submissions
• Oversee US GAAP requirements including Embedded Derivative calculations and quarterly balance sheet net downs
• Support the broader controllership function in embedding best practices
• Maintain the control environment, ensure timely reporting of significant transactions, and prepare accounting memos
• Oversee statutory audits and tax reporting (including 1099/1042) and liaise with HR and payroll providers
• Coordinate with offshore shared service team (WNS) on entity activities
• Forecast cash flow and liaise with treasury for funding requirements
• Ad-hoc project work and other duties as required

Key requirements

• Progressive experience in audit and accounting (Big 4 preferred)
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with ~5+ years PQE
• Strong technical accounting skills and ability to draft accounting papers
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience operating SOX controls
• Strong understanding of financial processes (close, reporting, controls)
