Overview
As a Resident Maintenance Engineer at Swisslog in Derby, you will service and repair automated machinery to ensure optimal output and reliability. You’ll work on a rotating 12-hour schedule, prioritise faults, and contribute to continuous improvement on site. You’ll engage with customers directly while applying best-practice maintenance and safety standards. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge robotics and a clear impact on service quality and uptime.

Responsibilities
- Breakdown and preventative maintenance on automated machinery (cranes, conveyors, robots, bagging machines, autostore)
- Undertake scheduled repairs per manufacturer recommendations and industry standards
- Prioritise system faults and ensure output quality
- Accurately record all work undertaken
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects
- Comply with Health & Safety legislation
Key requirements
- Apprentice trained Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification
- Experience with automated machinery is ideal but training provided
- Willing to work at heights
- Excellent communication at all levels (customer-facing)
- Experience with a CMMS system
