Software Engineer II

Overview

As a Software Engineer II for Tripadvisor Experiences, you’ll work in a remote-friendly, London-area role to build and maintain backend systems that power travel experiences. You collaborate with product managers and designers across the full software lifecycle, delivering changes into production on a frequent release cadence. You’ll primarily contribute to back-end work in a full-stack context, with opportunities to tackle front-end tasks as needed. You’ll leverage Java, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and AWS to create scalable solutions that impact travelers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to drive end-to-end software delivery
• Contribute across the full software lifecycle from design to code to tests and deployment
• Work mainly on backend systems with occasional frontend work, learning as needed
• Release code to production on a frequent cadence (daily release cycle)
• Develop scalable, data-driven backend services on AWS using modern tech stack

Key requirements

• Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language (essential)
• Experience building backend systems
• Familiarity with Java, GraphQL, Kubernetes, SQL and NoSQL databases on AWS (not all tools required)
