Solution Architect

Overview

As a Solution Architect, you will own the architectural landscape across a major AI and digital transformation programme within a leading financial services organisation. You will shape platform and application architecture, guide build-vs-buy decisions, and drive governance to enable scalable innovation. You’ll collaborate with delivery, security, and product teams to balance speed with risk, delivering well-governed, interoperable systems. This role offers high impact shaping the tech estate and enabling safe experimentation in Labs initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Act as design authority for application architecture, assess/approve applications and platforms, and contribute to build-vs-buy and vendor decisions
• Define and maintain integration patterns, data flows, and interoperability standards ensuring secure, well-integrated systems aligned with governance
• Shape a fast-moving AI and digital innovation programme, designing scalable architectures that enable safe experimentation
• Identify and manage architectural risks and technical debt, guiding solutions in collaboration with delivery teams, product owners, and security/compliance stakeholders
• Own application landscape documentation, including capability maps, system diagrams, and data flow models for a governed tech estate
