Solution Architect

Overview

In this Solution Architect role, you will help define and govern high-level technical solutions for a major defence infrastructure programme. You’ll work across government clients, partners, and design teams to deliver secure, scalable architectures for submarine maintenance. You’ll contribute to an expanding architectural team within Digital Solutions and shape outcomes on medium to enterprise-scale projects. This is a chance to influence critical national security systems while growing your architectural expertise in a regulated, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Scope functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into high-level designs
• Define system components, integration points and data flows using modern technologies and platforms
• Present and communicate solution designs to stakeholders via workshops, proposals, and visual storytelling
• Lead technical delivery, resolve complex issues, manage risks, and collaborate with software partners for deployment
• Ensure solutions align with architectural strategies and standards, selecting technologies and vendors to meet programme needs

Key requirements

• Proven experience in technical architecture and solution design
• Experience with Sparx EA
• Knowledge of ArchiMate
• Strong understanding of security principles and governance
• Proven success in designing and delivering complex systems integration solutions
• Ability to communicate and manage stakeholders at all levels
