Overview
In this role you will deliver urgent, patient-centred care as a General Practitioner within a new Urgent Treatment Centre. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose and manage minor illnesses and injuries, ensuring timely care in a high-quality setting. The role offers flexible sessional hours, with focus on establishing and developing the UTC service. You will contribute to safe pathways and share clinical expertise to support service success.

Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients with urgent but non-life-threatening conditions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care
- Support development and success of the new urgent care service
- Provide autonomous, evidence-based decisions for undifferentiated conditions
- Advise other healthcare professionals on appropriate pathways and clinical management
Key requirements
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- Inclusion in NHS England’s Performers List
- MRCGP or Certificate from the Joint Committee on Postgraduate Training for General Practice
- Experience in a primary care setting, out of hours, or urgent/emergency care (min 2 years)
- Understanding of inequalities in a diverse local population and healthcare needs
- Familiarity with the local healthcare system
- Experience of GP training/clinical supervision
- Ability to make autonomous, evidence-based decisions
- Ability to advise other professionals on pathways and management
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and motivate staff
