Overview

In this role, you join Ramboll’s UK Healthcare Team to deliver advisory and design solutions for hospital projects across the UK, with opportunities to work internationally. You’ll lead project delivery, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and advocate for sustainable, zero-carbon design. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the UK Healthcare Team of Structural Engineers
  • Manage your own projects from concept to detailed design
  • Perform design work ensuring technical excellence and client service
  • Act as structural engineering project manager to allocate resources and meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with disciplines such as MEP, civils and geo-tech
  • Raise the profile of the UK Healthcare Team
  • Develop structural concepts and design philosophies
  • Liaise with clients and represent Ramboll at project meetings
  • Communicate designs to team members and sites
  • Implement best practices for sustainable, zero-carbon, high-quality services
  • Visit sites to support design development or review ongoing works
  • Participate in technical groups and team meetings for continuous improvement
  • Drive team improvement initiatives

Key requirements

  • Experience with UK Healthcare sector projects (e.g., hospital buildings)
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or qualifications to support achieving Chartered status
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size/complexity
  • Understanding of project commercial and technical risks
  • Experience with digital and parametric design
  • Knowledge of assessment, retrofit and alteration of existing structures
  • Knowledge of construction supervision, building investigation and structural testing
  • Forward-thinking about digital design innovation and smart design in a digitised construction arena
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Ability to motivate and inspire across geographical boundaries
  • Ability to work autonomously on technical aspects
