Overview

In this role you drive the value of Engineering Environments in a cloud-based platform, working within an agile team and the Technical Leadership group. You represent internal customers, define feature needs and acceptance criteria, and manage the team backlog to align with broader objectives. You act as the technical authority for your area and interface with product owners and end users. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at Thales that blends development leadership with architectural oversight. You’ll help shape secure, scalable development environments and modern deployment practices for UK-based engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Represent engineering customers/users of the Engineering Environments
  • Specify needs, validate acceptance criteria, and approve features
  • Prioritize and sequence features with Portfolio Product Owner and other Product Owners
  • Make key decisions on direction of team solutions
  • Own the Product Backlog content and priorities for the team
  • Collect feedback from end users and stakeholders during iteration reviews

Key requirements

  • Experience with software or systems engineering approaches to promote best practices
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, XP, Lean
  • Familiarity with cloud and secure development environments for architecture improvement
  • Ability to define and implement service offerings to support architected environments
  • Understanding of cloud tech and enabling tools including Kubernetes, Containers, GitOps
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence), Jfrog Platform, GitLab, Black Duck, Siemens Polarion
