Overview
As Senior Motor Control Engineer, you design, develop, and test advanced motor control algorithms for PMAC, IPM, Induction, SynRM, and SRM. You build dynamic models in MATLAB/Simulink and related tools, validate performance, and support cross-functional teams to meet safety and quality standards. You drive novel algorithms and real-time embedded software work, contributing to traction-drive applications. This role blends research, validation, and practical implementation to advance Turntide’s sustainable energy mission.
Responsibilities
- Design, development and testing of motor control algorithms for PMAC (including IPM), Induction, SynRM, and SRM, plus vehicle control schemes
- Develop dynamic system simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape, and related tools; model motor, inverter, and system performance to target specs; create testing procedures
- Research and develop high-performance motor control algorithms; conduct motor characterization and controller sign-off
- Provide technical support to applications, validation, software, and sales; review requirements and specify design/test needs; document architectures and high-level designs; produce user guides and white papers
- Develop software modules in C and Python; ensure adherence to quality and safety procedures; translate specifications into software
- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with 5S; communicate findings, issues, and project status to internal customers
