Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will shape the core messaging platform that powers real-time interactions at scale. You’ll design and build highly scalable distributed systems and low-latency Pub/Sub components while improving performance and reliability. You’ll work in an AI-first engineering environment, owning architecture and code quality. This role offers opportunities to influence platform capabilities and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-growing tech company.

Responsibilities

  • design and build platform capabilities for the core messaging system
  • improve performance, reliability and fault tolerance of distributed systems
  • work on low-latency messaging, Pub/Sub services, and state synchronization
  • contribute to AI-driven development of the infrastructure and tooling
  • deliver production-grade software used by developers worldwide
  • own architectural decisions and code quality
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Key requirements

  • strong backend development experience with Go, Node.js or another modern server-side language
  • experience building or operating distributed systems, messaging platforms, event-driven architectures or streaming technologies
  • understanding of scalability, concurrency, performance optimization and fault-tolerant design
  • experience with Pub/Sub messaging
  • ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • familiarity with AI development tools is a plus
  • experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, streaming systems, developer platforms or cloud infrastructure is highly advantageous
