Overview
In this role you will apply spiking neural networks to build a production-ready machine vision engine for defence and security applications. You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate research into robust software, contributing to CNN/Transformer-based projects and synthetic data work. The focus is on delivering a practical, high-quality SNN-based engine that can operate in demanding environments. You’ll work at client sites in West London, with some remote flexibility and close cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Develop a novel machine vision engine leveraging Spiking Neural Networks
- Produce maintainable C++ software aligned with research outputs and product requirements
- Apply machine vision and image-analysis techniques to solve engineering challenges
- Contribute to CNNs and Transformer-based projects
- Integrate recent ML algorithms into production software
- Support synthetic training-image generation and curation of ISR imagery
- Collaborate with Researchers to implement technical solutions
- Contribute to design, version control, testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Assist colleagues and customers during technical discussions and project delivery
Key requirements
- Hands-on experience developing Spiking Neural Networks
- Strong C++ programming and software engineering skills
- Knowledge of machine vision, image analysis or computer vision
- Ability to translate research outputs into reliable software
