Overview
In this role you lead engineering delivery for the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) within a complex defence programme at L3Harris Barrow. You will shape the engineering strategy, coordinate a multidisciplinary team, and partner with Programme managers to meet cost, schedule and quality goals. You will act as the technical liaison to customers and stakeholders, driving risk management and technical decision-making throughout the programme lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of maritime systems, simulation, and autonomous capabilities, offering hands-on impact on critical naval platforms.

Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the engineering strategy to meet programme objectives while ensuring compliance with processes, standards and governance.
- Lead a small multidisciplinary engineering team to achieve programme outcomes across cost, quality and schedule.
- Collaborate with Programme/Project Managers to define technical scope and support delivery planning.
- Monitor and report programme performance; proactively manage risks, issues and dependencies.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and stakeholders, maintaining strong communication throughout the lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines and help the wider team resolve complex challenges.
Key requirements
- Experience leading engineering teams on complex defence programmes.
- Strong understanding of systems concepts, interfaces, requirements and management of complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience delivering programme objectives across cost, schedule and quality targets.
- Experience supporting technical aspects of bids, proposals and business development.
- Good understanding of requirements engineering, including elicitation, management and validation.
- Experience using requirements management tools, such as DOORS.
- Ability to rapidly understand adjacent engineering disciplines to support delivery and decision-making.
