Site Services Engineer

Overview

In this role you ensure safe, compliant operation of utilities and building services across Melton Foods and Chetwode Head Office. You perform planned and reactive maintenance, support contractors, and drive CMMS reporting to sustain critical services. You collaborate with the Engineering team to improve site reliability and energy efficiency. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position within a values-led, collaborative culture. You will help shape a reliable, compliant, and efficient site while working on meaningful improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and statutory inspections across utilities and building services
• Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance to restore critical services safely
• Maintain and support systems including boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, water, drainage, electrical distribution, heating, lighting
• Support specialist contractors and OEMs, ensuring proper permits, isolations and site controls
• Record maintenance activities accurately and provide CMMS/Mainsaver feedback
• Identify deterioration and reliability risks and propose improvements
• Support energy efficiency and utilities performance initiatives across the site

Key requirements

• Level 3 NVQ in Engineering (or equivalent)
• Multiskilled based on qualifications and experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience maintaining utilities, facilities or site service equipment
• Familiarity with planned preventive maintenance systems
• Good health, safety and environmental awareness
