Principal Civil Engineer

In this Principal Civil Engineer role, you lead delivery of civil design projects for building developments, guiding design packages, QA, and client liaison. You will coordinate design teams, contribute to technical standards, and manage SAB processes to ensure compliant outcomes. You’ll work across surface and foul drainage, levels, highways, and externals, shaping solutions for diverse clients. Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery for civil engineering projects
• Coordinate design teams and participate in design reviews and workshops
• Contribute to technical standards and innovation
• Ensure project QA and deliverables are met
• Develop civil design packages (drainage, levels, highways/externals)
• Oversee SAB compliance and connection agreements management
• Manage client relationships and resourcing for projects

Key requirements

• MEng or BEng in civil engineering
• Chartered membership or Associate membership of ICE OR working towards Chartership
• Significant experience in civil engineering design for building developments
• Strong understanding of SAB legislation and SAB process management
• Excellent communication, analytical, design and drawing skills
• Experience using AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, Civil3D, collaborative model platforms, NBS Chorus
• Self-motivated team player with good people skills
