Overview
In this Senior Civil Engineer role, you will shape civil design across the full project lifecycle for major water and wastewater schemes. You’ll collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to deliver practical, compliant solutions and ensure buildable designs. You will engage with clients to support their aims and mentor engineers to grow their skills. This position sits at the intersection of design, delivery and collaboration within a large-scale water sector environment, offering meaningful impact on environments and communities.

Responsibilities
- Provide design support and ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet standards
- Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, safe solutions
- Engage with clients and adopt a one-team approach to achieving aims
- Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines and documentation
- Act as technical checker and conduct technical reviews across projects
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery, standards and digital tools
- Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems
- Support development of civil engineering team through mentoring and resource planning
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution
- Experience delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
- Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Methodical problem-solving approach
- Valid driving licence with willingness to travel to sites
