As an Associate Civil Engineer in a friendly, growing Bristol team, you help shape infrastructure and development projects from concept to completion. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the client-facing delivery ethos of a respected engineering business known for technical excellence and exceptional service. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget, while supporting business development and technical standards. Responsibilities
- Scope and prepare fee proposals
- Assist with business development to grow civil engineering capabilities
- Oversee and develop technical solutions from concept to implementation
- Conduct site inspections and data analysis (maps, reports, tests, drawings)
- Attend client meetings and manage deliverables for client satisfaction and project success
- Maintain high technical standards matching project briefs
- Ensure timely, cost-effective project delivery
- Manage project teams to produce deliverables within timelines and budgets
- Assess risks, materials, and costs; provide creative problem-solving
- Monitor progress and compile project status reports
- Manage budgets and stakeholder engagement to deliver exceed expectations
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members
Key requirements
- Proven work experience in engineering
- Degree in engineering or similar; ideally Chartered
- Ability to design and deliver engineering solutions on major/complex projects
- Excellent programme/project management skills for multiple projects
- Expert project management guidance on multidisciplinary projects
- Ability to balance engineering priorities across projects
- Able to motivate and lead teams; strong people management experience
