Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

As a senior electrical services design lead within SYSTRA’s engineering team, you will drive design and integration on rail and built-environment projects to meet client commitments on quality, time, and budget. You will manage design production, ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements, and act as Work Package Manager on small-to-medium projects. You will mentor teams, support business development, and contribute to continuous improvement. This role sits at the heart of delivering safe, efficient infrastructure with a culture of collaboration and empowerment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to electrical design and integration on projects, ensuring client commitments are met
• Monitor team performance against contract and quality metrics; initiate corrective actions
• Oversee checking and approval processes for designs and calculations, managing design production
• Clearly communicate project requirements to the team and stakeholders
• Act as Work Package Manager on small to medium projects
• Maintain working knowledge of relevant technical standards for discipline
• Support work winning and marketing to create opportunities for the team and company
• Apply health, safety and environmental procedures throughout the design lifecycle
• Contribute to company-wide goals and business improvement
• Perform other duties as required

Key requirements

• Knowledge of electrical services design in built environment and/or transport infrastructure
• Experience with railway lineside systems and associated disciplines (points heating, signalling power, LV distribution, etc.)
• Experience using industry software for electrical calculations
• Understanding of multidisciplinary issues related to railway lineside systems and built environment
• Qualification: HNC or equivalent
• Professional status: IEng or equivalent
