Overview

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion using a phase-gate process. You will shape hardware specifications, review supplier capabilities, and ensure an integrated design architecture for harsh environments. You’ll perform circuit design, analysis, testing, and documentation to support trades, compliance, and integration. This on-site, DV-cleared position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and delivering robust electrical hardware for mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion
  • Define processes, specs, and procedures for electrical hardware design and manufacturing
  • Assess supplier capabilities to inform source selection
  • Develop functional and physical design requirements for integrated architecture
  • Design and develop electrical circuitry including power electronics, harnesses, and 28V high-current systems
  • Conduct analysis, testing, and evaluation of circuits and components
  • Perform circuit protection analysis and ensure safety and reliability
  • Produce technical documentation (trade studies, requirements, compliance evidence, test records)
  • Collaborate with the team and communicate effectively; self-manage and adapt to tasks

Key requirements

  • Formal electrical qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng
  • Experience in electrical hardware design & product development for harsh environments
  • Electrical analysis: derating, stress, and tolerance
  • Experience with software tools: Zuken, Harnware
  • EMC awareness at product and circuit level
  • Familiarity with Def-Stan/Mil standards, safety and quality processes
  • Ability to support and manage Assembly, Integration and Test
  • Experience with lab test equipment and debugging of electrical circuits
  • Experience with Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tool
  • DV clearance (or ability to obtain) and on-site full-time work
