Overview

In this role you shape high-impact product areas with end-to-end ownership, blending interaction and visual design to push the craft of AI-powered experiences. You’ll work within a design-driven team at Intercom, shaping Fin and related tools to raise the bar on product feel and usability. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and PMs to define problems, prototype ideas, and ship high-quality solutions. The opportunity sits at the intersection of AI and human-centered design, offering meaningful impact as the design culture scales. This role offers autonomy to lead craft across strategic product areas.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design for high-impact product areas from concept to execution
  • Define new interaction patterns and design paradigms for Fin, automation, and AI-powered tools
  • Sketch, prototype, and test ideas at various fidelities to validate decisions
  • Collaborate with engineers and PMs to define problems, move quickly, and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Maintain high craft standards while balancing speed and execution
  • Mentor others, push for excellence, refine processes, and share knowledge within and outside Intercom

Key requirements

  • Shipped complex, high-quality software products
  • Experience designing for multiple surfaces (desktop, mobile, chat, AI-first experiences)
  • Ability to balance speed with attention to detail and obsess over decisions
  • End-to-end thinking from systems to small interaction details
  • Ability to build prototypes communicated through tools like Framer, Figma, and code
  • Strong design taste and ability to articulate decisions clearly
  • Autonomy and ownership, proactive problem-solving
