Employee Privacy Counsel

Overview

Join TikTok’s Global Employment Law team to lead and scale the employee data subject rights program. You will partner with Employment Legal, HR Privacy Legal, and business teams to deliver timely, compliant responses and improve governance materials for a scalable process. You’ll leverage data-driven insights to inform leadership and provide practical guidance on complex employment and privacy matters. You will also train stakeholders on evolving privacy obligations and response procedures, shaping how we handle employee data across regions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the employee data subject rights response program as the primary legal and program management owner
• Improve and maintain the operating framework, templates, SOPs, and governance materials for scalable rights requests
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, compliant privacy responses
• Develop data-driven insights to report findings and recommendations to leadership
• Provide practical legal guidance on complex employment matters across the lifecycle and support broader counseling
• Deliver training on employee privacy obligations and emerging legal developments

Key requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK, Ireland, or another relevant jurisdiction, or equivalent legal qualification with in-house or law firm experience
• Significant experience advising on privacy, data protection, and/or employment law issues including employee data matters
• Strong knowledge of UK and EU data protection frameworks and employee privacy requirements
• Experience managing or advising on data subject rights requests, regulatory responses, investigations, or related data governance
• Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects and drive operational processes in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent legal judgment, written communication, and stakeholder management skills
