Overview

As Senior Director in Gartner’s BTI, you’ll lead and shape must-have insights that help clients navigate AI and security challenges. You’ll act as a credible market voice across regional and global levels, delivering pragmatic content and engaging with clients through multiple channels. You will drive thought leadership, guide research agendas, and mentor the insights team while collaborating with cross-functional peers. This role blends rigorous analysis with executive engagement to accelerate client outcomes and Gartner’s mission to deliver actionable technology insights.

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, high-impact insights content that clients can act on
  • Develop new ideas through thought leadership to address client needs
  • Analyze root causes of client barriers to drive strategy forward
  • Establish and propagate insights positions across the analyst team
  • Provide provocative, independent insights to evolve Gartner’s research agenda
  • Research and predict market trends to produce actionable guidance for clients and vendors
  • Offer actionable advice to clients and prospects via virtual or in-person interactions
  • Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for events, briefings, and conferences
  • Support BTI and Sales by acting as market voice to drive client engagement and content creation
  • Provide high-quality peer review of content and maintain credibility as an industry expert
  • Participate in innovation, ideation, and collaboration within the Insights community
  • Identify and propose research process improvements for better service delivery
  • Mentor junior team members and foster professional growth
  • Maintain client-centric engagement with regular Gartner insights interactions

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep expertise in application security technologies (SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA) with vendors like Checkmarx, Snyk, GitLab, Github
  • Hands-on experience securing AI-driven development and AI-generated code, including AI vulnerability discovery and remediation
  • Knowledge of threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability management in the context of AI
  • Executive presence and credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, writing, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data and apply patterns to client challenges
  • Excellent communication, ability to explain complex concepts concisely
  • Subject matter expertise with comfort presenting at large and small engagements
  • Business and financial acumen with awareness of global competitive landscapes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, matrixed environment
  • Learning agility and travel willingness up to 25%
