Overview
In this role you will shape protection and control solutions for the UK energy sector, from concept to detailed design and energisation. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on projects like HVDC, wind farms, and substations, delivering robust protection schemes and compliant drawings. You will influence technology choices and standards while supporting energy transition efforts. This is a growth-focused role with exposure to varied projects and clients.

Responsibilities
- Develop scoping documents and Main Connections & Protection Diagrams
- Review P&C designs produced by third parties
- Specify P&C equipment such as relays, CTs, and VTs
- Produce detailed AC/DC schematics
- Conduct protection grading studies and create relay files/settings
- Review commissioning plans and participate in Commissioning Panel meetings
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
- Experience on Distribution Networks as a Protection & Control Design Engineer
- Knowledge of protection relays, relay panels, CT/VT sizing, grading studies, and AC/DC drawings
- Familiarity with UK electrical practices and CDM regulations
- Strong safety and risk mitigation mindset
- Ideally experience with National Grid processes
