Are you interested in developing solutions for the future environmentally sustainable aircraft? If so, joining Landing Gear within the Airbus Internship Programme could be the ideal start to your career.

In this role, you will be actively contributing to real-world AI and Data Analytics use cases. We know that the technology landscape is moving fast, which is why this role is heavily focused on mentorship. You will get hands-on experience with the most highly demanded skills in the industry today, including Cloud computing, Full-Stack development, and advanced AI architectures.

What you will be doing

Under the guidance of senior engineers and mentors, you will:

  • Build AI-Driven Applications: Help design, develop, and integrate AI models into scalable software solutions;
  • Explore Advanced AI Concepts: Get hands‑on exposure to building Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and exploring Agentic AI workflows;
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Learn how to deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP);
  • Full‑Stack Development: Contribute to both the front‑end and back‑end of data‑intensive applications;
  • Collaborate & Learn: Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and architecture brainstorming sessions to understand how enterprise software is built.

We look to tailor the work you will be involved in based on your previous experience, interests and development needs to maximise the value you can add to the business.

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

  • Studying any relevant Degree in the following fields: Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science and Analytics;
  • A Hunger to Learn: A strong willingness to absorb new information, ask questions, and tackle unfamiliar challenges;
  • Drive to Contribute: A proactive mindset and a desire to build things that matter;
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: You enjoy breaking down complex problems and finding logical solutions.

Desirable, but absolutely NOT mandatory skills

  • Exposure to or basic knowledge of Python;
  • Familiarity with Full‑Stack development concepts (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, basic databases);
  • Note: If you don’t have these yet, don’t worry! We are here to teach you.

What We Offer You

  • Dedicated Mentorship: We are committed to teaching you the skills you need. You will work closely with experts who will guide you step‑by‑step.
  • High‑Demand Skill Acquisition: By the end of this internship, you will have practical experience with Python, Full‑Stack Development, GCP, and cutting‑edge GenAI/RAG frameworks.
  • Impactful Work: Your code and contributions will support real Data Analytics and AI projects.
  • A Safe Space to Fail and Grow: We value curiosity over perfection. This is an environment designed for you to experiment, learn from mistakes, and grow rapidly as a developer.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC‑level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
