Overview
In this Data Centre-focused role, you will lead electrical building services design across feasibility to completion, shaping high-value, low-impact solutions. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, drive project delivery, and engage clients to support net‑zero outcomes. The position sits within Arup’s Building Services team, contributing to sustainable, scalable infrastructure. You’ll help advance digital design and drive efficiencies across local to international projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver data centre and mission-critical projects with strong technical approaches
- Provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary design teams and external sub-consultants
- Manage project delivery including delegation, coordination, and reporting to the Project Director
- Ensure robust client engagement and financial performance across a portfolio
- Contribute to digital transformation and integrated digital design opportunities
- Adhere to sector-specific legislation, regulatory requirements, and design guidance
- Collaborate with sustainability and energy specialists to drive net-zero outcomes
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Building Services or Architectural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status (IET or CIBSE)
- Proven experience leading electrical building services design for data centres, hospitals, airports, labs
- Experience winning and delivering diverse projects
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate external sub-consultants
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and future trends in sustainability
