Overview
You will join AECOM’s nuclear team to deliver critical process engineering solutions across UK projects. In this role you’ll contribute to multidisciplinary design work, bid development, and project delivery under quality, safety, and environmental standards. You’ll support decommissioning initiatives and safety case substantiation while collaborating with engineers across disciplines. Responsibilities
- Produce essential process engineering deliverables (PFDs, Basis of Design, P&ID, data sheets, schedules)
- Perform underpinning design calculations and mass/enthalpy balances
- Support project planning, prioritisation, and governance to meet programme requirements
- Develop and mentor early careers staff
- Act as Designer under CDM 2015 regulations and contribute to safety case development
- Communicate design progress in meetings and reports
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers for integrated multidisciplinary design
- Stay updated on relevant technology and best practices
- Contribute to client interactions, bids, and proposals
- Ensure compliance with legislative, company, and project requirements
Key requirements
- BSc/BEng in Chemical Engineering (Hons)
- 5+ years post-degree experience as a Process Engineer
- Good awareness of the UK nuclear industry
- Experience in a regulated, quality-assured environment with design responsibility
- Track record of implementing process engineering work packages
- Experience with Health and Safety regulations and standards
- Familiarity with NEC contracts
- Able to meet UK security clearance requirements
- Full UK driving license
